Questions answered
About the lessons
Who do you teach?
I teach all ages above 6 years old and all levels, ranging from beginners to advanced students.
How do I know my English level?
I recommend doing a placement test such as this one by Cambridge.
What is a trial lesson for?
Trials are meant to discuss your learning goals, your current level and your learning preferences. I don’t teach during my trials and they are not meant as a one-time short lesson. All you have to do is show up, you don’t have to prepare anything for a trial!
I want to improve my English for work. Should I book a Business English class?
No! Or maybe! Business English lessons usually include advanced writing tasks (such as reports, proposals, and professional e-mails), formal vocabulary, meeting and negotiation language, presentation skills, and sometimes practice with industry-specific documents (like financial statements, contracts, or technical manuals). It can also involve using programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, or project management tools in English.
If your main goal is simply to feel more confident speaking with colleagues, writing clear e-mails, or understanding work-related conversations, then General English lessons might already cover what you need.
What if I’m late to a lesson or have technical issues?
If you’re late or you are facing technical issues, the lesson will still be charged and end at the scheduled time. Please try to join on time so you get the most out of your session. If there is a technical issue, I’ll extend the lesson to 60 minutes instead of 50 if my availability allows it.
What platform do you use to teach?
All lessons take place online via video call via Google Meets and Teams.
Can I take lessons on my phone or tablet?
Yes, but I strongly recommend using a laptop or desktop for the best learning experience, especially if we’re working with documents, presentations, or interactive tools.
Do I need to prepare anything for the lesson?
Unless specifically discussed during the lesson (such as homework), you don’t need to prepare anything. You also never have to buy any materials. All materials are provided by me.
Can parents join lessons for children?
Parents are welcome to be present at the start of the lesson but should not participate. This helps the student focus fully.
Booking and payment
How do I book a lesson?
You can book directly through my website. Just choose the time that works best for you, complete your payment, and you’ll receive confirmation by email.
Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?
Yes, but please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Lessons cancelled later than that will still be charged, as stated in my Terms of Service.
Do you offer in-person lessons?
No, I teach exclusively online. All lessons take place via video call (Google Meet or Teams). I don’t offer in-person lessons, and I cannot make exceptions.
Do you teach children under 6 years old (“my child is exceptionally smart”)?
No, I only teach children aged 6 and above as students need to be able to comfortably read texts and write. I don’t make exceptions.
Do you offer group lessons?
At the moment, I only offer one-on-one lessons. This way, I can give you my full attention.
Do you offer a discount if I want to book multiple lessons?
I probably will in the future! Currently, the planning and payment tools limit the use of coupons and discount codes.
